Boehler, who earned his degree from Wharton in 2000, was praised by Trump for his work as a lead negotiator on the Abraham Accords team. The Accords, a hallmark of the Trump administration, normalized relations between Israel and several Arab nations. Boehler also participated in negotiations with challenging groups, including the Taliban, according to the statement.
"Adam knows that NO ONE is tougher than the United States of America, at least when President Trump is its Leader," Trump said, adding that Boehler will focus on bringing detained Americans home.
The U.S. Senate previously confirmed Boehler unanimously as the first CEO of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, where he spearheaded economic initiatives worldwide. He also founded Landmark Health, a home-based medical care provider for chronically ill patients.
Boehler, his wife, Shira, and their four children—Ruth, Abraham, Esther, and Rachel—were congratulated by Trump, who highlighted the appointee's commitment to public service and diplomacy.
